Our Preamble

The Indian Association of Rwanda (INAR), a non-profitable charitable institution was founded in the year 2010 by a group of 20 like-minded Indian nationals residing in Rwanda who are now the founder members. INAR was formed with a vision to create a common platform for Indians residing in Rwanda to participate in various social, cultural and service activities.


Objectives of INAR

To provide a common identity to the Indian community through promotion of unity, friendship, and goodwill.

To support Advancement, appreciation, performance, reservation, study and/or teaching of the performing arts (music, drama, dance, film-arts), and Indian languages.

To provide community services within the limits of the INAR resources.

To promote and provide social, educational, and cultural programs which will enable children/youth of Indian heritage to remain connected with our Indian traditions.

To encourage and foster those activities that improves mutual understanding and appreciation between the Regional Indian communities, the mainstream Rwandese community, and other communities in Rwanda.

To encourage greater participation by Indian community in public affairs and to enhance their contribution to the society at large.

To function as a spokesperson for the Indian community living in Rwanda and to function as an umbrella organization for all regional, social, and service groups of Indians living in Rwanda.

The funds and the income of the association shall be solely utilized for the achievement of its objectives and no portion of it shall be utilized for payments to the members by way of profit, interest, and dividends.
